Default Non splined axle?

Does anyone make a non-splined (at the wheel end) axle? So you could avoid using the Tamiya splined hex.

I guess not. I machined the splines off the stock axles, making it a 5mm shaft, then drilled for a 2mm drive pin.

I'm making a sprocket to fit the axle so I can mount snow tracks. Getting around the splined shaft makes it a lot easier.
