Default Sticks vs. Frames vs ramrod.

I am putting my clod back together for comp. But they throw all of the classes in together so all the stick ,frame w/links shocks and solid frames(ramrods) are together. I need to know if the frames with links and shock can hang with the stick clods. I have never really paid that much attention cause I have just played in a diffrent class before. The ramrods look cool with a solid frame that just flexes in the middle. anyway let me know what you think about that.

Torsion/Stick > frame with links and shocks.

As long as you set it up right, and have a low cog and good weight distrabution any chassis will be competitave.

All that and most importantly... Have driving skills!

A well set up 4 link or tuber with a good driver will smoke a stick with a driver that sucks!

I will say that a tuber takes alot more effort to "dail in", it took me the better part of 6 months to get mine to the point that I feel it will go with anything anyone can put up against it, but I still have to drive it right, but as far as the vehicles ability to be driven over something I don't think theres anything a stick will do that my tubeframed clod can't. Not to be a pic whore but here it is after I finaly got it the way it should be.

I know you did, belive it or not I had that kind of ground clearance when I built it and thought I had to have it, but now that its lower and longer it is 100% better, and I havent missed the ground clearance 1 bit. Theres 1 or 2 spots that have huge breakovers that I have to aproch differantly to make but its nothing that the 35 turns and the 6 tooths won't handle. As far as stability goes I would have traded twice the clearance for it.

I'm sure that is true!

It definitely looks meaner and more capable since the rebuild!

Clearance only comes in handy every great once in awhile.
Low COG comes into play nearly all the time!

Ive seen torsion beat a stick, a stick beat a tuber, a nylint beat all three its all on how you dial it in and 20% is the truck and fabrication and 80% is driver finesse.

it depends on your available tools, available funding and hardware but I baught a piece of c-notch frame from Scott and I came in 2nd place in the 2.2 class first time out. It can be as complicated as you want or as simple but make it work for you, dont make a mirror version of another rig cause it may not fit your driving style.

I know its kinda a rant but I hope it helps ya somehow let us know what route you take
