how about a axle stub i found a few but they say discontinued

Go to Tower Hobbies and type in Clod as your search then click on "Tamiya Super Clod Buster 4x4x4 Kit" then click "Replacemant & Optional Parts" link on the left.

RCP has a bunch of stuff for the clod axles.
