I mig welded all the tubes together. For the body mounts I welded 1/8 inch square rod that I drilled and tapped. The body get's bolted to the chassis. It's pretty solid. No vids yet.....I'll work on it. |

yeah, it's been phased out. It was a slow extinction  I got a TXT 14'r in the works and a few other Norcalers still have their supers. Just not enough people to run them to make it worth holding a class. hope we can get it going again |

Both tubbers look really good, wich paint did you use for the green one? I'm thinking to paint my new tubber in the same way.

I am a little rusty over MIG welders....Is that the wire feed welder? Or are on the lowest speed, and lowest temp?

Yeah, a wire feed welder. As far as temp and wire speed, I can't really tell you that. You will have to mess around with the welder you will be using. Good luck with your project. |

I go to the local automotive parts store and buy brake line there. I'm not too sure about different thinkness of tube. I go to the same parts store and all the tubing seems to be the same thickness. If you use brake line, make sure you grind off the outer coating. Especially if the tubing is galvanized.

Brake line tubing will be stronger than a solid rod. Also a solid rod will be heavier. I use solid rod for bracing parts of the body for added support. I have not had any problems with brake line tubing. I am thinking about trying to get some tubing from a steel distributor. The tubing may be more pure and it will not have a galvanized coating. |
