Default Links or Axles

Is it better to mount the shocks to the lower links or to the axles and what are the advantages and/or disadvantages of either ???

Mount to the links.

It gives you "adjustability."

Does it weaken the links ? By looking at the pics of each it looks like axles would be stronger ?? And I am not seeing how the shocks do not get bound up on the links ? Does the suspension work the same as if they were on the axles ? Does it help with articulaton or hinder on the links ?

Maybe I am just thinking toooo much ?

For a Clod link mounted is the way to go! Its just like adding cantilevers to the mix, you get the same travel with less shock movment. BUT it also has more leverage on the shocks, so you'll need harder springs. I dont think either design is stronger than the other, based on your design of course!

And it doesn't weaken the links or bind up in any of my findings...

unless you make the links out of some thin wall tubing normal the links are stronger then the shocks the shocks and rod ends will break before the link itself

Might not weaken the link.....but it will add stress to the rod ends. Might be a small amount but it is there. IMHO,axle mounted shocks are best.
