The biggest advantage is with 2.2 rigs but helps with supers aswell. Just think about it. CLEARANCE. You want the tires to hit the rocks first right? Well with 2.2's and the motor not flipped you will hit the motor first 80% of the time. Just flip the rear axle and do a BTA on it for a Super. Now the rear as the same clearance as the front does. Why would you want to just barely clear the front over a ledge just to have the rear hung up on the motor? Not many are doing it, but it seems to be catching on now. All my Chassis go out with the rear axle flipped. I can't see one bad thing about flipping it. Besides buying another BTA for the rear. Now notice the rear axle thats flipped. See how the motor sticks past the tires. Now just think what it would do if it wasn't flipped. Last edited by run2jeepn; 02-03-2007 at 01:32 PM. |

I've done it, and I'll never look back. I NEVER get the rear axle hung up, because the wheels get there first. I highly recommend it.

when doing this the rear motor would then be wired the same as the front correct? instead of reversed? so + to + and - to - from the esc to the rear motor and the same from rear to front motor? |

Yes, the motors are now both wired in forwards. I hear some of the clod racing guys use this technique so that they don't have to buy a reverse motor.

I have it done to my NN chassis already, I saw it done on the Cane's and thought it was a good idea, but then I thought it might be too much weight to the back. |

With the motor hanging out the back.. does it ever cause problems when exiting a hole or something? Or.. do the benefits outweigh any little thing like that? |

There is a small problem with the motor getting hit and making the pinion mesh too tight, but I'm working on a guard to sort that.

i was thinking that... I thought a guard to protect the motor would solve any problems, however it would also make the whole thing stick out just that bit further too.. Let us know how it goes. |

I haven't had any real issues with the motor hitting anything.
