I just bought this Original 1987 Tamiya Clodbuster, With the Original Chevy Grill & Tail Gate. ~ Not a bad deal for $100. The Body had a fair amount of road rash but I sanded them areas before painting. The Right side corner of the body by the grill was broken and fixed by me. The tail gate had cracks but I repaired them best I could. Bent Left side window post I left that as is. I touched up the grill with silver paint. Just needs the Back Half of the Chrome Roll Bar to be complete. And I ordered that part from RPP Hobby. I Repainted the Body close to the Original Red on the box cover. The Chassis / Wheels & Tires Are in Vary Good Condition for being 31 years old. Metal Chassis Brace was added at some point. It came with the Original 540 Motors & Old school 2 Channel Futaba Receiver & steering servo. Also came with an Traxxas EVX 3014 ~ ESC ~ But it needs to be re-wired. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by Stomper Fan 777; 02-07-2018 at 11:28 AM. looks great. makes me regret stealing the axles from my dads clod 9 years ago. I've been wanting to rebuild it for him as a present for a little while now

Awesome restore! I had a Clod that I bought at a flea market when I was 15. Bought it for $50 and I beat the crap out of it and then threw it in the garbage a year later. Never once did I think it would have been worth anything. I wish I would have been easier on it and saved it.

There is only one thing I wish that I had done before I sold it. And that was to switch grills with my Clod bodied scx10 ii scaler. I made the one on my scaler out of a 4x4x4 grill. It turned out good but the original looked a lot better. Even with the silver paint touch up. ![]() ![]() Last edited by Stomper Fan 777; 04-19-2018 at 02:52 PM. |
