| help! rocks are eating my truck!
I've been crawling for a few weeks now and have noticed a few things about my cloddie.:-P 1. The front steering links are taking a beating and I've even broken the ball end off the link. 2. The bottom of the axle housings and motors are also developing gouges and scrapes. 3. Ball ends on the steering links, bottom links, and top links have either broken or gotten pulled of the ball. I could care less about the scratches but I don' want to put holes in my axle housings or weaken other parts. What can I do to protect these items? I saw a skid plate on the rc4wd web site but they are sold out:-( . Anyone know where I can get some? |

You don't need a skid. It will take years of 'ard crawlin' to even weaken the axle cases. As for the steering links, move both links to the top of the knuckle, and maybe use the big M4 thread rod ends from Junfac.

You need to do a BTA ( Behind the axle) Steering set up. Just drop the $45 bucks for one. Or make one youself. If you have a TLT kit around. You can use the servo plate and mounts to make your own BTA for you clod.

Use half a cap of a shoe shine bottle as a skid for the motor. It'll save the brushes and endbell to. Saw it on someone's crawler and really liked the mod. Here's the thread: My New Stick Last edited by BrockGrimes; 02-13-2007 at 05:02 PM. |
