Standard Super CLod Buster Servo Mount So i was in the process of building my first ever Super Clod Buster out of the box, newbie mistake i managed to rip the bolt holes off the standard plastic servo mount. Would anyone here able to help me with the correct standard replacement servo mount? Thanks in advance! |
Re: Standard Super CLod Buster Servo Mount Welcome to the site! Is the servo mount posts what you stripped? Sometimes a longer screw, some washers and a nut could fix a sripped hole too. Pictures help, as I've not owned a stock clodbuster. I've looked over the manual and it it the two parts that sandwich the servo that broke? Or is it the piece the servo posts mount to? If it isnt that im assuming that you stripped the chassis. |

Well, i was about to install the shocks to connect the main chassis to the axles, newbie mistake i did not anticipate the weight of the axle so i just turned the whole frame around, and somehow the heavy weight of the axle just ripped the standard servo mount off the baseplate completely, i could post pics but it looks like the mount is not safe-able. Am looking at the plastic standard replacement parts from crawford however thinking maybe there is a better solution in stronger alloy piece instead. |
Re: Standard Super CLod Buster Servo Mount So youre not doing a (OTA) on the axle steering right? It would give you better steering with less slop if you did. |
Re: Standard Super CLod Buster Servo Mount uhmm no, Over The Axle steering you mean? Don't have any plan since was thinking of keeping it stock for a start. |
Re: Standard Super CLod Buster Servo Mount ya you want the servo mounted on the axle 2 servos for 4 wheel steer the rig will handle so much better you will be able to turn the wheels both ways not just one way it also keeps the waight down on the axles for a better center of gravity you dont have to modify anything to do the mod and theres a simple bolt on kit if your not comfortable making your own mounts ive been mounting a round servo horn on top of the standered servo horn to look like a break rotor then make a little caliper looking thing to help hide the servo then a old shock locked out with fuel lime so theres still alittle play to act like a servo to look like a steering ram it comes out looking good |

Re: Standard Super CLod Buster Servo Mount Welcome tot he site! There are lots of companies that offer servo on axle kits for the Clod. Some have even offered BTA (behind the axle) steering to move the tie rod and protect it from damage. JConcepts recently released a kit and it looks very nice, but it's not cheap. I have no personal experience with any on the axle mounts or BTA kits so somebody else will have to give you a more solid answer. https://www.jconcepts.net/shop/regul...-kit-bas-1-set |
