Do you guys custom make the steering knuckle part to put the batts on, or can you buy them somewhere?

You can just zip tie/glue/tape the batteries to the stock knuckle or if you are using aluminum knuckles you can attach the batteries to a piece of PVC pipe and slide the pipe over the knuckles. Here's a link to the PVC version: sub c's on aluminum knuckles? |

I ended up just dremeling out the stock knuckles then ziptying and supergluing my batts into place. Worked out great, i have about an 1/8" clearance between my batts and wheels.

I run alum.. knuckles so I do the pvc pipe packs . I use 1" pipe and I use Black tape to build the knuckle up so the pipe will slip on tight . then I use 2 small screws to keep the packs from move in or out and getting it to my wheels . this is when I had stock hubs . It worked ok no problems ,other than the added weight seem to break more hubs out . Last edited by Badd; 03-28-2007 at 03:01 AM. |

This is my way! It clips right on the alu knuckle, the one in the pic is by RC4WD, made on a cnc with polycarbonate (lexan). To don't make it spin and hold it in the desired position I use a screw directly on the knuckle. Sorry for the bad picture! |

Hey Link, where did you get those? did you make them yourself? What knuckles are those? I love that idea, they look real clean and nice.

The only thing about mine is that you can easily change the batteries just removing the wheels without even removing the adapters or wideners. This way you can have multiple packs and charge them off the crawler. |
