| axel e-clips
I am in the process of locking my diffs w/ 2 ton epoxy and bearing installation. It is a real PIA to get the axels off of my truck, so I am wondering if i need to use the e-clips on the axels inside of the tranny? If I leave them off and break an axel it will be easier to change them this way. Will this cause me probs? thanks, rash |

I am talking about the trannies. Real pain getting them off all the links and servo and motor and stuff. Sorry for the confusion there. Just need to know if I really need the clips on the inside of the trannies. Thanx, rash |

You can leave the inner E clip off of the axle shaft, then it can be replaced simply by removing the knuckle and pulling it out. You need to shim the hexes in the diff gear, and put a rubber shock O ring into the stub axle drive cup to keep the axle in the right place.
