Default Mounting Pimp Cane Spine?

Hello. I was thinking about mounting the pimp cane spine by drilling one big hole in the bottom of the C-channel and then two holes opposite of each other on the side walls so that the post would slide up through the bottom and the pin would go from left to right across the sidewalls and through the post. It would make the spine kind of "hang" on the screws of the upper 4-link mounting post on the Clod axle.

Does anyone see any problems with this? I was thinking the post since it goes through the C-channel would absorb all the sideways forces, but I'm not sure if it would do anything for the torsion forces. If it doesn't those would all end up on the pin (as well as up-down weight force). Can anyone see some clearance issues between oddly shaped top of the gearbox interferring with the movement of the spine?

Here is an image of the post to help describe what I am talking about:

That is very simular to how how I mount my knock off chassis and it has not given any indication of the"pins" weakening. I actually use a 3mm bolt all the way thru the bolt in the axle halves and keep it slightly loose.Chassis is also mounted inverted so to speak, with the flat side up and the channal facing the ground It will allow for a bit of float in the backbone, which in your case probally is not a good thing. You can allows use tighter tolerances and pinch the larger case bolt with the thru bolt to eliminate the float.
