Yes, it work fine for what you want to do. Then if you find you like it, start modifying it. You will find everything you need to know on this site.

Just have fun!

i had an original clod when they 1st came out, i had a blast with it. with its dual motors dirt hills will be no problem! im sure you'll like it, but let me suggest, lock at least the rear diff while building it and get 2 or more battery packs.

mine started out as a stock super clod buster only things that suck about it was the speed controler and the steering system . lock the diffs if you want to hill climb or climb over anything. mine is more of a back yard busher i need to spend more money and time to rock crawler it but im happy i bought it

Thanks for the reassurance on the clod. When i start building it to lock the diffs i just put JB weld into the diff cups correct? and i think i will be trying to get at least 2-4 3300 battery packs for it, but does any one now how long it would run with those?

just use jb weld in the spider gears plenty of it. dont use jb quix it will break down.and you will probably get about 15 min run time with stock motors and those packs. that is with an esc. atleast upgrade it. you will agree once you do.

For a basher, I wouldn't recommend a clod, purely because of the lack of runtime. I reckon a 4wd Wheely King would fit the bill much more nicely.

the double J vertical smile chassis is pretty well priced and makes a good basher/comp rig.

if you want to go super (clod tires or bigger) go with an sw3.

have fun.
