Default adjustable motor mounts

Well I just installed my 8 tooth (front) and my 7 tooth (rear) pinions on my clod from holmes hobbies today. And realized I need adjustable motor mounts. Stupid me didn't think...........lower tooth count= smaller diameter pinion gear And therefore the pinion gears won't make contact.........dee dee dee.

So my question is..............with the adjustable motor mounts from CPE, will I need a new special made axle housing for my clod?

Nope. These bolt directly to the stock gearcases. Not aware of any adjustable mounts that also require a special housing actually.

Got a Dremel? I've heard that with some of the really small pinions you need to shave away a little bit of the axle housing.

Default Pinion Depth...

I'm actually in the middle of setting up mine...got TTR's Adjustables, w/8t Pinions. Do I set the pinion depth to make full contact, or as much contact as possible? I don't have the pin. Depth tool.
Secondly...what is this "slight air gap" I'm supposed to leave between the pinion and the primary gear?
