| AJ's Clod FINISHED w/pics 9.23.05 page2
Well I traded a touring car for some Clod axles. Then I got some narrowed BFT's. I've already got maxx wheel adapters so that's done. I've got a plan for a chassis but I"m debating weither or not to build a simple tube chassis. What do you guys think? If I build a tube chassis this is what I'm thinking designing it after a formula toyota chassis. or the other idea is similar to a V2 Here's the fomula toy Last edited by rckjeep; 06-02-2005 at 08:38 AM. |

what is the Jeep in your name. Do a tuber similar to a Jeep man, but then again, everyone does that. Carry on. just keep us informed of what you end up with. Once my house is ready to sell, I am getting back on track for my $300 YJ and hope to have it on the trail in April. Then I will get back to building a tuber for some solid axles. |

I kinda started playing with a 1/6th scale version when Mike first came up with the Formula chassis, but never got any further than this......... |

Well in the middle of another 2.2 rig I started making my Clod chassis. It's going to be a simple aluminum chassis.

especially for a CLOD. its a rolling battery tray with some holes in it for links and shocks. I have access to a shop that builds and rebuilds Toyota FJ40's. It's really nice working with a mill, lathe, shear and brake. I busted out 3 in under an hour. but one got messed up not too bad. I made them up as I built them. I had an idea but no measurements till I started. the short version Yup what he said. | |

Ever think of maybe putting the battery on it's side to get the center very narrow?
