4link4eva's comp clod tuber - Now with SideWinders, LiPo, and a stretch! Well here it is. this is actually my second tuber, the first one wasn't as precise as I'd like, so being a true perfectionist, I started again. I decided that I would take my time with this one (UK nationals aren't until July 28th) and get it spot on. I kind of got into the swing of it and, as usual, forgot about pics. Ignore the lumpy welds, still need to grind them back and tart them up. Pics... http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/6...ildupfrvj5.jpg http://img293.imageshack.us/img293/1...ildupfrzs8.jpg http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/4...ildupfrnl5.jpg So...? ;-) |
Are those upper links bent alot. They look like it in the pics. |
Yes, those upper links have been 'tweaked' out of the way of the shocks. Well done for noticing, though... :) |
I can see they were bent for the shocks, but in the third pic they look like they are not parallel. That is what I meant. If one is higher that the other due to bend, won't it cause some suspension geometry issues. |
Well, got the rear links done today... http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...d-DSC00107.jpg http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...d-DSC00108.jpg |
dude thats pretty cool |
I forgot about this thread, but here's the update that I put on UKRCRC... Well we have a runner! http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...d-DSC00104.jpg http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...d-DSC00105.jpg http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...a/DSC00107.jpg Well, we had a runner... http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...a/DSC00110.jpg http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...d-DSC00113.jpg Didn't stop it driving though... http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...a/DSC00112.jpg Apologies for the crappy pics... |
Also, got the frame ground down and filled today, should get it painted tomorrow. :) |
lol, i was thinking, that is some weird *** flex hes got there. |
Looks great, but dang that thing is tiny, i would have gone for a bigger chassis, kinda looks like kamikaze's chassis. |

1 Attachment(s) Here are the pics! http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...d-DSC00168.jpg http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...d-DSC00189.jpg Even a short vid, climbed it easily first try, then I was just killing time... http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...h_MOV00002.jpg Future plans: New batteries on knuckles (7 cells) Bigger reciever pack Limit suspension flex (possibly heavier oil, too) Bigger servo's Smaller pinions |
Looks good.... Turned out better then I thought it would Nice job.... Limit that flex it's killing you. |
I dig it, definitely a unique tuber! I was going to suggest you use a smaller servo horn, but I guess you already got to that  I bet those tires make a night and day difference over the stockers. |

The stockers were only on there after I shredded the Junfac adapters. RC4WD ali ones have replaced them. :D |
