Who's got them and how have they held up. Tell us the pros and cons of the product. They have been out for a few months and still no feedback from those that have them. I had a gut feeling their would be a redesign, to get the bugs worked out of them. Are the 2nd generation ones holding themselves togethor. Anyone breaking outer axle shafts, due to the extra leverage and torque they provide? What about breaking axle tubes? No one offers a metal axle tube to fit stock or aftermarket knuckles by themselves. If you buy integy tubes and knuckels, that will work. Same with RC4WD, as they do not sell the tubes individually. |

I have a set of portals for my Super I have been building forever. A cure I see for axle tubes is to build your own if you can. I work with a guy who has a lathe, I am going for stainless steel tubes. I am also going to reduce the C also, to fit closer to the portals and get rid of the spacers. I might just go for a flanged bearing in the C's if I can find some that will work. My impression with out any run time yet is, the portals should hold up, we will see. I went with the portals because I like the Mashers over the Moabs, even in the Supers and like the diff clearance you get with the combo. |

Anyone running the portals on stock axle tubes? I do not plan on doing this, but would like to know the effect on stock axle tubes with all that extra torque.
