I think they are both capable platforms. What I think it will boil down to is the way you can master the two different rigs. With the Hustler, there is all down travel and the opposite with the gecko. This will create different crawling characteristics with each. Adjustability is also key in any crawler...so the ability to do this for individual courses and driving styles is important. I have tried just about every chassis out there and they are all capable. It's how you fine tune them and drive them! However, I do think the Hustler is the best looking even though the guy that puts them together is as ugly as a tree root.

How are those Integy axle tubes? Im thinking of doing them w/ JP knuckles and stock plastic gear cases.

Check back in with RCP. I hear they just got a HUGE shipment yesterday.

I love the fit and finish of the axle tubes and the knuckles are frikin awesome! Some of the best aluminum work I've seen. I am going to switch out the cases, to plastic, for competition. For photo shoots, I will leave the chrome. This truck is being set across country for a photo shoot in two weeks.

And...as for yellow rings............pics are coming of the new set up!

Ok.....the standard Axial rings are yellow, as requested , and bolted over the top of the larger black rings. Haven't put all the screws back in but I think it looks pretty cool and is a bit different.

as far as cases go...since the integy cases are exact copies (almost) of the stock plastic ones to reduce weight maybe running half metal and half platic that would give you the strength of the metal on the half that takes the abuse but give you a little less of the weight....cracked plastic cases suck.

Working on it. ESC is the deciding factor.
Everything else it ready to go.
Although, it will be out of state for a while.
After it gets back, I'll be ready!!!!!!

Ask mg i think he has the newer one, i have one revised version, and it's very powerful, i have it on my hl with rd400 2.2 beadlocks which would put the rig at around 9- 10 lbs, and the novak motor doesn't even break a sweat , it also has the low speed control dialed in, no bogging at really slow speed also has that really fine control needed on the low end , and like i said it's got tons of instant torque plus the drag brake that holds my rig at almost 90 degrees before it flips over . So 2 Novak on a hustler would definetly be overkill IMHO. Also the newer version is supposed to have sintered rotor with lipo cutoff.
