Integy Clod Parts

I'm wanting to build a clod based crawler and I'm just curious what the folks here have to say about the Integy Clod Axle parts. I've read mixed reviews about Integy's stuff, and I have had issues with Integy parts for TMaxx, Jato etc. parts requiring modification for installation, irregularities and so on. Any complaints about the Integy Clod Axle Parts?

What parts? I have 4 of the metal gear sets and not 1 complaint. They hold up well to 14 volts and a heavy clod.

I'm actually looking to build the entire axles from Integy parts. Using the gear boxes, castor blocks and steering blocks. The price seems good compared to the other aluminum stuff out there, but considering the difficulties I've had with various other Integy parts for other vehicles, I'm a bit paranoid. I want a good solid set of axles to start my build from.

Sorry, forgot to mention using the gears too, thanks by the way, I feel better knowing that somebody used the gears and likes them.

Now that you mention it, I have the tubes as well, but r2j's knuckles. Are you planning on a 2.2 or super? I do not run the cases because plastic slides better and I wanted at least one thing to be actual clod! Plus the cases are heavy!

Ced RC 09-23-2007 07:09 PM

I plan on building a super class rig, 15 to 16 inch wheel base most likely. Good point with the plastic sliding better, I've seen where people have ground down the Integy cases. Maybe I'll stick with plastic cases. You happy with the tubes too? I like the knuckles that have the grooves machined in to hold batteries, do the rsj knuckles have that? Thanks.

I running Integy cases, gastor blocks and RC4WD steering knucles on a Gecko Pro. No problems.

Ced RC 09-23-2007 07:43 PM

Thanks for the feedback guys. I've had to drill out holes for pivot pins to make steering knuckles for a Jato to fit, modify pivot balls and steering knuckles for a TMaxx, and various other stuff in the past. I'm just skeptical of Integy.

jp's knuckles (jp is the same as r2j...short for run2jeepn, he has a lot of posts on this site) are the only ones milled for under-knuckle batteries and he is a great vendor with a lot of clod stuff on his site.

The tubes are great as well.

teamtom 09-23-2007 08:16 PM

jp does ship quick...

Ced RC 09-23-2007 08:46 PM

me and my friend operate rcslot.com, check it out, we have a lot of stuff, cheap prices, great shipping. we operate a shop in Franklin WI, just now getting into the crawling scene, thinking about building a crawling setup in the shop for winter action....

Well I bought some Integy parts, axle tubes, steering knuckles and metal gear set for the clod axles. All seems good, the metal gears seem very good for the price.

I run the gear sets in my super and they are super smooth and hold up well to my driving and the awsome power I have come to expect from holmes hobbys  I cant say the same for the rc4wd ones

jagg 10-03-2007 08:51 PM

I ordered 2 sets of gears today, still thinkin on the axle tubes. Has anyone used thses before, or are that more "Bling for the Buck"

Using the gears and the tubes as you seen at devils lake. They work great no issues even with brushless.

Ced RC 10-04-2007 06:23 AM

I was leary of Integy, I 've had trouble with stuff related to the TMaxx and Jato, stuff like hinge pins not fitting into a knuckle, needing to drill out clearance holes for hinge pins etc, but now I've picked up some axle tubes, steering knuckles and gears I'm impressed, especially with the gear sets.

So, no one has used one of their chassis kits yet?....

I'm curious, they look ok (for a pile of parts), but could buy something that works well for the same money.....

I'm curious about the chassis too, does seem pricey, few more bucks will buy you an NN or something comparable.

sloppy 10-07-2007 02:27 PM

chassis looks to be more for a racer then a crawler.
I just got a set of the knuckles and put them on my txt axles work great. bearings fit nice and tight in housing, to I have got some other knuckles that the bearings just flopped around in the knuckle.
I am gonna buy them for my clod axles now to.
