Default Just one question

How long will it take before I snap an axle tube?

I am wondering if the stress upon the tube will be to great since there are no braces and the shock is putting all its force on the same bolt as the link. Has anyone else tried this kinda setup?

two days tops first you need to move your lower link to where you have your shock mounted and move your upperlinks to the former steering pivot hole with the use of some aluminium stock or order some nice upper links from inet, new era, etc then make a bracket that attaches the shock to the axle support. thats a start

That is what I am trying to avoid, I dont want anything on top of the gearbox. This setup gives me awesome amounts of flex and no side to side sway at the same time. I was looking at RC4WD's clod axle link mounts but there isnt any pic to give me an idea what it is. Maybe I'll just build some custom braces that allow for a shock mount in the same location that I have them, cause I really wanna keep the links and shocks right were they're at.
