Default Hot Racing...?

Hey guys, i was looking on www.hotracing.com and i was wondering if anybody has ran any of their stuff. I.E. nuckles, wheel adaptors, cvd's but particularly these axle tubes http://www.hot-racing.com/?partnumber=CB20EL08&c=38. supposedly they extend the wheel base 15mm per side. They look to be fairly good quality.... also not having that ugly bulge a 1/3d of the way down the axle tubes. (going for a clean look).

They don't come with Axle braces Nor can you ever run CVD's... I'd go with a Wheel/Tire and Adapter that gives you the Track width you are looking.

I think they are a great idea. Where were they 2 years ago when we were all running 3/4" wideners and 3/4" negative offset wheels?

It would be great to run full positive offset wheels to get the scrub radius down but still have some extra width for link clearance. Like R2J says though, no more CVD's.

BTW, no I've never ran their stuff.

Thanks but I'm still loving my RM250 with RG3 suspension. If yer ever in CO visiting relatives bring crawlers and let us know.

I think R2J was referring to the metal axle brace that runs from the gearbox to the knuckle. The one that triangulates the axle tube and gives it strength. With some hardcore wheeling you might bend those long aluminum tubes in a hard fall.

I wasn't really thinking about the tubes bending, but the added stress on the gear cases themselves. Plastic cases wouldn't last a min with those longer tubes and no braces....But if you had Nice Alumn gear cases to go with them. You might be good for a while.

Did that make sense? Of course I'm just guessing that could be a problem. But I haven't ran those either.

Question... do you think it would event be worth cutting like an inch or two of rubber out of the center of the stock clod tires then narrowing the rims? (i'm broke) would that at least be better then the stock set up for a little while?

If your Broke, I'd build a Comp 2.2 Clod. What money you do have will go much farther.
