| 4WS questions
I have tried to make my clod 4WS using a servo Y-harness. Both servo's rotate in the same direction (clockwise or counter clockwise, depending upon if the channel is reveresed or not). This means that if when facing the front of the truck, the servo horn is pointing downwards (as most people have their front servo). The servo on the rear axle must be pointing at the sky in order to get the wheels to turn thus, / / \ \ rather than crabing / / / / The problem is with the rear axle, the steering is binding, or just not as good as the front. I am using plastic servo horns currently (both front and rear), and switching to aluminimum servo horn's might help. It just appears the rear steering is under more stree as I have to run my steering link to my servo at such an acute angle. Both my diff's are locked which is why I am trying to use 4WS to get some of my turning circle back. |

You'll probably need a reversing servo harness. OR you can rewire the servo to run the opposite... but it IS MORE THAN SWAPPING 2 WIRES IN THE PLUG. That will fry the harness contrary to popular belief. There is a thread with a how-to on here that shows reversing servo rotation. Once the horns are the same direction, rear shouldn't bind cause it'll be the same as front. |

I bought a servo reversing Y harness. Works great but mine has an adjustment that allows, what I would assume different current sizes going to each servo. I had to tweak mine as the front was not as powerful as the rear after installing. Eventually a DX6 is in order that will do away with the hassle all together. |
