Default 1/4 servo mounts

Loking for anybody that makes or knows of sombody that makes a mount for a clod axle that will let me use a 1/4 scale servo. Or maybe I should say a MONSTER Scale servo! I bought 2 Tower Pro 9805BB servos to give them a shot on my super build and don't see any way to mount them with out hacking the ears of then there isn't any way to mount them any way. I would also like to get an aluminum servo horn for them (in blue) if i can. I will going to my LHS today for some hardware and Axial parts and will also see what they have there but if any body here has done this before let me know what you did and how it worked out!

The 805's will go onto the clod axles.

Just.

Only requires some slight trimming to the axle tube (pics 4 and 5), before you can just fab a plate to bolt it all to.

Make sure your steering links are up to it, the Hitec 805's can bend the ones in pic #3 in half like there's nothing there.

Hey thanks! that is sertainly one way to do it but was wandering if that wont weeken the axle tube to much? I was thinking of a lay down type mount but it looks to me that this might be the only way but if anyone else has an idea let me know. I was also going to try to do a behind the axle steering system.

If you go with the small C axle tube ( ttp://www.jpcustomrcs.atomicshops.com/catalog/item/4457874/4880167.htm) you won't have to trim anything also look at (www.swbmfg.com) for servo arms.....

It won't sit flat, unless it's mounted over the pivot point of the steering knuckle. If you check out Double J's 'Super Goat' build thread, you can see that he did it that way.

The axle tube has not been noticably weakened by this minimal trmming .

if you find plans for a servo mount, post them up for other to use.
id be happy with the set up already shown here, without going to the trouble of laydowns.

hey jeepfreak, i just took some flat piece aluminum ans bolted them to the axles braces then braces them with a lil piece of "C" channel that i cut one angle side off and bent over, and screwed it to one of the lil screws that hold the axle tube to the housing. mine are really stron, and it doest have the chance to twist the braces at all. snappy steering

Currently I won't be able to take on any more projects for a bit, so for those of you that wanted me to build them some 1/4 mounts this is the best I could do at the moment. When I have some time I'll make a few and offer them up for sale and have a couple that can be used as BTA set ups like I used on the SUPER GOAT.

When I built the 1/4 mounts I didn't take any measurements cause I'd just use the axles as a base for the size. I 1st cut a piece of metal about 1" or so wide and started by drilling a hole for the knuckle hole (i think it's called) layed it as close as i could to the gear box and bent it. I thin bent a little lip for the servo to mount next to the gear box then added a hole for it to mount to the gear box where the stock brace mounts. Then I brazed the second mount for the servo.

After I did this I figured a way to make it all one piece. It kinda needs to be reversed for a BTA and then I used 1/8 solid rod for the steering links and tap (die) the ends for traxas rodends.

Sorry I couldn't get better measurements but if I can get some time I'll add that to my to do list.

My BTA set up.

Also wanted to note that I didn't have to cut or trim any part of the axles for this to work.

I also made some 1/4 scale mounts that stood the servos up instead of laying down.

If anyone want's this set I'll let them go cheap.

That's smaller than the 805.

The 805 won't sit flat unless it goes over the screw for the knuckle.

Also, Raptorman sucks.
