| Wheel adpaters - what works with what?
If I have a Clod running Thunder Tech CVDs, and I want to use Pro-Line 40 series Cheyenne beadlocks, or Axial 40 series beadlocks, what do I need for a wheel adapters? I know Pro-Line uses a 23mm hex and Axial a 17mm hex, but there are a lot of different wheel adapaters out there. Which ones fit the CVDs and are there adpaters that add some width, or is it not needed? |

Personal advice is to go with the Axial wheels and 17mm hexes. The reason is there are a ton of hex adapters out there in different widths for 1:8 scale racing. You can use them with your CVD's instead of stacking some type of adapter on the 12 or 14mm hexes that come with the CVD's. Skinny ones http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXRRB5&P=7 wider ones http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXRRB8&P=7 Last edited by todd1803; 11-15-2007 at 06:40 PM. |

i dont think those adaptors you shown are compatible at all. the clodbuster hex hubs are splined not "pined" like most are so go to some crawler stores like tcs or rcp and they have the exact adaptors you need. just wonder around for offsets and stuff. research

Espeefan was asking about adapters for Thunder Tech CVDs, which use a pin. Not the stock axles. | |

Sven, thank you. I've been looking at a lot of the Integy adpaters. Are the TTR CVDs a match in outside diameter, so that they are compatable with a variety of adpaters ment for other trucks? Like the HPI Hellfire, Traxxas Revo, ect? Likewise, is there an adapter that will work with the TTR CVDs, but for 23mm hexes? Maybe these? http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXSRH5&P=7 I kind of like the Pro-Line beadlocks better myself. |

Hey, I found these on Tower Hobbies. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXTFV4&P=7 http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...ARCH=c22704red Will these Integy adapters work with the TTR CVDs? They look like they would. Funny thing about the design, though, is they seem to do away with the shaft nuts, and now an o-ring holds the pins in place, which also hold the adapters. Does anyone run these adapters? Thinking about getting them. They also have 17mm adapters just like these. Of course, TTR also has MIP 17mm hexes specifically for their CVDs (made by MIP) too, but the Integy adapters are combination wideners as well. |

Yes, they do. Check the link. Scroll down till you see the optional hexes. 12, 14, and 17mm alum. hexes. You can order direct from TTR. http://www.thundertechracing.com/cvd1.htm |
