| Axle Diameter
Hi everyone: I am building a mobile platform and need to use hubs from monster trucks to attach the gearboxes to the wheels. I am thinking of using 14mm hubs like these: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXSBA4&P=7 They are kinda pricey but I need metal (if you can offer any suggestions for alternatives then I am all ears). My issue.... I do not know the axle diameter of the clod or txt-1 (I assume they are the same). Will someone please measure the diameter of the axle (round metal contact area [with no spline or threading if applicable]) with a caliper (preferably in mm since it's usually a button push away). If the above is not clear, what I am looking for is the internal diameter of your present hubs. This information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Kevin |

Thanks for the reply! If someone knows for sure then that would be great. Actually, let me expand the question...does anyone know what hubs have 6mm internal diameter? Thanks, Kevin |

The outer stub axles are 6mm in diameter, or 5.98 on my caliper. Internal measurement of the bearings list at 6mm.

jagg, Mnster: THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Totally unrelated note but I don't wanna make a new post just to whine ....It would be nice if I could see the FS section (even if I can't sell anything, it would be nice to have the option to buy without posting 30 times)...I want to build a unit but because I don't know enough to give advice and I don't wanna ask dumb questions and get flamed, I probably won't have enough posts to ever buy anything here...oh well :( ..... Unless anyone here has electronics based questions ? (yes...this is a thinly veiled request for you guys to help my post count...lol) |

That can be easily fixed, purchase a "STAR" and you'll get more access than just the FS forum. You'll be able to host pics, enter the contests, plus you'll be giving a little back to the site |
