Those are Carbon Fiber...haven't used them, but I know a couple guys that have.
Or just make your own, I used a setup similar to Dezfan and EeePee. Use the stock clod axle stay to mount a couple of servo mounts to and mount the servo backwards. Flip the knuckles backward and put everthing together, it works really good and you probably already have the parts needed for it. At the worst you'd need 4 rodends, some allthread (8-32) and a 1-1.5 inch servo arm. I used Maxx rodends and threaded some steel or aluminum 1/4 rod. Delrin rod works nice, too.

I have used one, they work ok, but they are not neccissary for a super truck.

They limit the steering more that a conventional forward facing steering.

what would you recommend? should I just stick with steering in front of the axle? this is going to be on a super class pimp cane and used in comps.

You could get away with it in the front like "normal" But if you compete you might get hindered by it being your first thing to hit while trying to get up and over your obstacle.

If you have the ability to try both THAT is what I would suggest. Then you can make your own decision and run with that . ;-)

If you want to use a BTA system you could go with the J&M Customs BTA Kit. It doesnt limit the steering like the Thundertech Racing one. Plus the J&M one is cheeper... Thats just my 2 cents.

thats the one that I wanted but their not being made rite now.

I would just wait for the J&M Customs BTA Kit to be made again. I like it alot better then the Thundertech one.

Kamikaze 01-08-2008 11:21 AM

Running it in the front has never hindered me.
