Default RockMonster's Gecko Pro 2 for 08'

Well I've built alot of RC vehicles in my life but I would have to say that this one I am most proud of. Starting out with the following parts :

RC Guy Gecko Pro 2 Chassis
JPS gearcases
JPS axle tubes
JPS C hubs
JPS knuckles - front
JP Custom knuckles - rear
Thunder Tech axles
Thunder Tech 17mm adapters
B&B 55T Axle Snapper motors
RC Guy motor mounts
RC Guy 8T pinions
Traxxas Big Bore shocks
Axial 40 series Beadlocks
Proline Moabs
Novak EVX ESC
Hitec 645 servos - front & rear
Traxxas TQ3 reciever
Traxxas TQ3 transmitter with rear steer mod

I think that 70 degrees should be the maximum.

Bye.

Nice start, just needs tweaking!

Limit the flex first, which you can do by putting some fuel tubing on the shock shaft.

Also, move the mounting position of your lower links on your axles further forward. This will rotate the motors out of harms way, and also stop you getting hung up on them.

Good luck!

Thanks for the tips 4Link! Yea it's a little blingy but don't get me wrong this is no shelf queen. I plan on doing all out comps with the beast. The axle snappers are great in my opinion, plenty of torq, decent top end, bottom line , they get the job done and for $30 bucks for the pair, what the hell, right?

Uuuummm because I can . . . ? And the motors have been proven, everytime I pull the trigger on my Tx they move the beast, therefore it's proven that they work.

I'm a very big fan of JPS stuff and quite a bit of Pauls product too but of all things to see is a rock crawler made with his beautiful machined cases. I see no reason in not just spending a pretty penny for all that aluminum goodies but also no reason in rock rashing any of it crawling. I can however see if maybe this was a shelf queen crawler of some sort but hey to each their own I guess. Also on your suspension rod mounting kit it's mounted backwards, they should be flipped around so the flat area faces the cases and the deep area faces the knuckles but again to each their own I guess and they will work either ways anyway but just thought I'd point out that one incase you didn't already know it. I also see those are the older style suspension rod mounting kits from Paul and same goes for the bumper I guess you've had these JPS goods for a while now? I doubt Paul would send you anything outdated.

I'm just curious, but why did you choose the Moabs over the narrower/slightly taller Moab XLs? I like the XL's better and have had both, but just my .02

Yea I understand your thoughts and I do kinda agree with you thats why I am in the process of designing a lexan skid plate to protect the axles tubes and gearcases. I'm not sure of the age of the stuff, I actually bought it off of ebay several months ago. The parts were originally used on a monster truck. And as far as the mounts go I wasn't sure which way they went so I just picked what I thought was the better looking.
I wish I had gone with the Moab XL's and I probably still will, I got these off of Ebay at a really good price and I didn't really pay attention to whether they were XL's or not. Oh well, lol. Well thanks for the comments guys.

Hey, if you can try to get some video footage of your rig. I want to see how that chassis works.

The only thing i would suggest is limiting the articulation also you can use limiting straps, the fuel line tubing is also a good suggestion other that that nice gecko.I would thing you will find then to be a better performer though.
