So what are your overall impressions of the kit so far? And what do you think of the tires?

The whole kit is nice but at times I'm thinking it's complicated. You look at this compared to something like an Axial or Wheely King and it's amazing how many more parts and screws there are. But so far I'm diggin' it. It's not a full-on comp rig, it's not a scaler, but it should keep pace in either world with a few tweaks. The tires feel good in comparison to my well-used 2.2 Moabs with modded foams. Here's a dead-sexy shot... |

| ![]() I would have liked to see the axle a little less wide to allow for more tuning in the backspace of the wheels. I definitely don't think the rig is too wide, just wider then I thought they looked in the pictures. I am still anxious to get mine and model it so I can start making upgrades..... |

I also see that there is no way to use old-style TLT axle stays. That's kind of a bummer. I always liked the versatility of those. And they replaced them with a huge, convoluted, overly-complicated setup. I like the grappler on there. It does have a nice semi-scale look to it.

JIA, great build there... From all the build pics you took. I have question. 1. Is the kit you have is the same kit that will be offered? 2. Is all the parts used in your kit is the same will the kit offered soon? This question pointing more towards the a.) diff(alloy?) b.) linkage(alloy?) c.) ladder frame (alloy or pressed metal?) I am going to pre-order mine soon... |

Shouldn't be difficult to drop in a winch servo.

I personally dont like the axles, they look too wide and look like shrunken TXT axles

MY vote is for the baby blue... A friend of mine's 1:1 is that color combo, but with a black roof. I also know a guy with a black one, and I know of a Yellow one, a red one, and a Purple one, as well, all in the local area. ![]() There are a lot of FJ's around here. |
