The release date for this truck was early April, then late March, now late April. Whats the holdup? I thought this kit was going to be released in the US first.

This is not good, they hyped everyone in the u.s. that they be ones getting it first, they even came up with national scale comp, and know everyone else, but the u.s. , is receiving the cr-01 first, what gives??
Btw they=tamiya

Tell me about it:roll:, it sucks really, all the anticipation of receiving something that has been so higly hyped and then have no idea of when it will show up, it kind of kills the mood, i am about to cancel my order.:-(
Edit, btw this is why i hate pre orders.

99b4c 04-09-2008 08:48 AM

This is exactly why I didnt preorder this truck because the release dates are different everywhere you look. I bought Axial axles and trans last week because I needed something to build and tired of waiting.

Larrio 04-09-2008 11:23 AM

The release dates are the same. Some just follow directions better than others.

A few have trickled out here and there but it's not technically a "public release".

Tamiya didn't hype everyone..everyone hyped themselves.

Tamiya didn't come up with the National Scale Comp, they only made a decision to be the primary sponsor of Ben's event.

Grizzly4x4 04-09-2008 01:32 PM

The debut was supposed to be at the Scale Nationals. :?

http://www.tamiyausa.com/swf/msd.swf

From the site it looks like it will be at RCX also, which is before the Scale Nationals.

Wasn't the u.s. supposed to receive the cr 01 first and everyone else a month later?

I think Vroomvroom bought his in a public hobbyshop in the Philippines. It must have been a rumor that the US would get this truck first.
