From the Land of Sky Blue Waters...

No, I'm not talking about Hamms beer.

The weather finally cleared, after our MNRCRC comp I was able to take some pictures, enjoy.

As far as I'm concerned, that's the first "must have" mod.

william g 06-01-2008 03:14 PM

color looks pretty good on there "thumbsup"

I'm running the cant's and am surprised I actually like it. Did you try it, or just build it without?

GySgt Hartman 06-01-2008 03:35 PM

A few more.

Locks really good, I went with the same color scheme. Do you have any body off shots I want to see non-cantee setup.

The shocks are Losi XXX-T MF fronts, they are a perfect fit.

I noticed the hubs, but why not use the ones that come with the wheels?

Nice rig though, I love the blue.

Stormin2u 06-05-2008 07:43 AM

Yeah Chis it was great talking to you as well. I was really impressed with both your rigs I just don't find many builders with the patients, creativity and attention to detail that you have. "thumbsup" I have always aspired to build to your level and I may never get there. As far as the comps unfortunately my health is rather fragile (30 years of MS), you know how I'm always joking about my perfect weather standards? Unfortunately it's not a joke any kind of extremes don't work to well for me so I'm a "fair weather friend" so to speak. I like bashing days because then I can pick the conditions. Besides it's fun when you can run 4 or 5 packs and test out a bunch of stuff and there is always other people bashing at Taylors Falls. Love the CR-01 best one I've see. :-D

Mad Scientist 06-05-2008 11:23 AM

Very clean - nice job on the details. Any info on those hubs?

JavelinSST390 06-06-2008 06:36 PM

Ditto on the hubs... c'mon, spill it! Those are SIIIICK!

Natedog 06-07-2008 12:25 AM

Yep very nice. DId you try it with the cantilever? If yes, what's the differences that you notice?

hpiwhelyking 06-07-2008 08:34 PM

nice truck i like the color and the licence plate ohhh and the wheels

Norse 06-11-2008 03:50 PM

Huge props on the body detail. Im ordering those Losi shocks now, and tell me how to do those hubs please !

GySgt Hartman 06-11-2008 06:28 PM

Thanks for all of the complements; I’m happy with how this has turned out.

Cantilever shocks: The linkage had far too much slop allowing un-damped movement, which didn’t help the handling at all. Torque twist with the stock set-up was unacceptable. I also had problems with the stock shocks leaking, so they had to go.

Hubs: They are from Toyranosaur with Rogue Element Components, yes they are F**king incredible. They work perfectly with the RPP wheels (probably any wheel for that matter).

Yes, it's full of hidden details...
