My CR-01 with new option parts

Hi,

upgraded my CR-01 again with hop-up parts from Tamiya, 3racing and JunFac. Motor is a 55T Novak.

- bent lower links
- rear straight axle adapter
- short barrel springs (medium in front, soft in rear right, stiff in rear left to minimize torque twist)
- new drive shafts
- aluminium shocks
- skid plate and steering rods from JunFac
- proline Flat Iron M3 with weights front and rear

Right now I'm really satisfied. Especially the short barrel springs are highly recommended since they lower the center of gravity, improve the scale look and still offer a lot of articulation. Pics from today:

There's one part on my favourite trail that was really nearly impossible to do before I added the barrel springs (did it once out of around 30 attemps) and that is doable now. It's still a challenge, but i managed to clear it twice out of two runs today.

Greetings,

Michael

Now that's an awesome looking rig and trail. I'm jealous, where's my CR01 RCP????

I'm excited to hear that the short barrel springs did improve your rig's performance as I just mod mine with those as well. I still haven't tried it out yet. But I think the lower ride height is actually better since it lower the COG and the lengthen the wheelbase. I tried go the other way around, maximizing the ride height to get the max ground clearance and it turned out worsening the climbing performance. So, I think lower COG is better than higher GC if I have to choose one."thumbsup"

very nice trail rig.
do you have any issues with binding on teh bottom links ?

i just aquired a cr01 myself, and it also had the bent links kit.
mine were binding up on the bottom of the axel at topped out travel.

after i set my rig up with maxx bore droops, i removed the fronts, and made up a set of straight lengths.

setting it up in droop did limit my travel a bit, but nothing to cry about.

great work keep the pics rooling in "thumbsup"

Looks great on short springs and the Dodge body. Your climbing spot is nice as well.
