If the Axials have a 12mm hex then they will work .. that said i was trying a friend of mines Flat Irons with Axial rims on my CR and found the Axial rims rounded off my plastic hexes within a very short time .. I now have alloy hexes but haven't since tried the Axial rims again .. what you need to do is put the pin through the axle, then put the hex back on and then fit the rim onto the hex .. sometimes the pin can drop out when your putting the rim on so be careful of this .. good luck.

Been there ,done that.On axial wheels, the" mounting surface" is thicker than tamiyas wheels ,so you cant get the nuts to stay tight ,so the nuts loosen off and strip the plastic hexs.

You probably can find low profile lock nuts, havent looked so i dont know for sure.

A drop of blue thread lock holds the nuts onto my cr just fine though.
