Default mud and water runners .. help!

What are you guys doing about rusting bearings? Is there a water safe bearing out there ?

It seems like that's the last thing I need to do to waterproof my CR, but I haven't seen anything. Time to tear it apart, it's been sounding sick, like sick in a bad way, not gangsta lingo

Yes, there are sealed bearings available, but "sealed" is a relative term here. Roughly 3x the cost of regular bearings, and the seals WILL eventually fail from exposure to dirt/debris/mud/etc. and you'll be in the same boat again... it'll just take longer...

All I do is spray my rig down with WD-40 before any water-or-mud-involved run... And I mean the WHOLE rig, except the body... makes the muck come off easier...

Then once you get home, hose 'er off and spray it with the WD-40 again immediately following that... The WD-40 will dis-place the moisture from the bearings. I've been running un-sealed bearings now for over 2 yrs and only had to replace 1 so far... and my Scaler sees plenty of the wet stuff.

The key is to make sure it is clean before you put it away.
