Default Kamikaze Kustoms Zero 4.0 Tamiya CR-01

Hi all,
Just a few pic`s to show what I have been upto the past couple of days.
Got the KK chassis from RuffRyder, with the intention of rebuilding my CR-01 with a new lower Chassis. I have had to make a new skid plate as the original is a little bit small for the CR gearbox. Made it from some 8mm Delrin.
Need to sort the Geometry out and the wheelbase but it`s getting there.

This is with my first cutting board skid plate, then a big sheet of 8mm Delrin turned up at work from RS Componments so I made version 2. Its a bit tight in there, but I didnt want to go stupidly wide with the chassis.

Well I can say that this is a first for me! I haven't seen anyone use a Kamikaze chassis with those axles before! Let us know how that works out for ya!

I like the idea you got,But I wanted to give you heads up on that DIG unit you got on your CR-01 trans.I had one on my CR-01 COMP rig and it lasted three comps and it wore out bad,The company don't have a rebuild kit for it.
The only way you can rebuild it is buy another unit,at 50.00 plus shipping it gets pricy.
Iwent with a RC4WD R2 trans w/ a DIG and it works very well.
Hears pics of mine

I hope this info helps you.
but nice build so far!

Thankyou for your replies, I am aware of the dig weakness mine has done several comps and is worn. But I will make a new sleeve/bearing for it very soon.

Another minor update, been sorting out the links still not %100 happy with them tho. I am using Losi crawler shocks, running as semi droop. Skid height is around 2 3/4". Will be more running my X-Locs.
Need to sort out somewhere to mount the dig servo, and make a couple of delrin chassis stiffeners.

This rig had its first comp last weekend since its major rebuild. It is deffinetly better, feels alot more planted to drive. The links needed some work, and I am now experimenting with a semi locked link set up on the rear.

I ran it with some RC4WD X-Locs on 8 shooters, due to the course being very jaggedy, but they didnt suit how I had set it up for the Rock Claws on the DNA wheels. Plus I didnt get chance to reweight or replace the foams in the X-Locs .

The freewheel that I added to the dig is also nice to have as well.

I will update with some more pics soon .
