Default Monster Truck Motors, and Bent Links?

So, I'm wondering if anyone has put something like a Titan 550 motor on a CR01, and what the results were? (I know its supposed to be a crawler, and yes I tried to search on this subject with no results)

Can the truck handle it?
Would it dramatically increase wheel speed despite the low gearing?
Is it just a better idea to use the Novak brushless system set up for crawlers? (I know I'd probably give up the drag brake with the monster motor correct)

Do bent links really make a big difference in performance by thwarting hangups? (front/rear/both?)

Thanx! Just contemplating a few ideas, and not sure if I'm totally wasting my time!

well, the stock plastic bits won't handle a motor like that. plan on some aluminum or steel upgrades.

as for the bent links, I've only heard good things. I need a set

Would you suggest bent links front and rear, or just rear? Seems like its the back end that takes the worst hit correct? (my trucks aren't finished yet).

I think both are worth it, cause it helps to have those lifted so you don't anchor the truck right behind the wheels. If you only got one id say rear would be more worth it.

me and my buddy threw a titan 550 running the evx wiyh 14 v in his cr-01. its sick . but in order to stand up to it, the truck needs some beefing. anyone else done this, it fits pretty good.

here's another vote for bent links, 3racing ones are ok, but spin, the tamiya ones are great if you have the money.
