Default Which motor ?

I just bought this truck and going to go brushed route with this one . Tekin offers three different motors . 35T , 45T , and 55T . Which would be best for this truck ? And where should I start gearing at ?

Thanks

I have stock gearing on my CR with a 27T Trinity Mystery Stock motor. it's pretty badass, more torque and rpm than stock. It can syclone donut just like a real monster truck now

not to mention it can actually clear a jump now too!

I've got a Tamiya 35T CR-Tuned in mine and its a bit slower than the stock can but much more precise and more torque when going extremely slow. Right now I'm running a 21 tooth pinion instead of the stock 20, I also have an 18 but I haven't run it yet.

So , should I get a 27T instead then ? Are the 35T able to have enough wheel speed when needed ?

The stock motor is a 27T. Its just the all around Tamiya motor that comes in everything they make. The 35T still has enough wheelspeed to get out of a jam, but it will never go off any sweet jumps, but you'll have the torque to use a steady throttle input over obstacles. That said, even with the stock 27T the CR isn't going to go more than 5-8mph, its the gearing of the trans.

I run a 55t and 24t pinion ,plenty torque and has good wheelspeed.
A lot better slow speed control and about same speed as the stock motor/pinion.

The 35T systems are out of stock so I bought the 45T system . Will try it and see . Can always get the 35T motor .
