you can put a zip tie around it and that should take pretty much all the play out or just replace it with a regular solid horn

i have been trying to find a solid arm, but no luck, i admittedly have not looked TOO hard. the zip-tie idea sounds good, aka free, could you elaborate or any pics?
thanks rom.

heres that best pictures i have of what i'm talking about. i'm sure your isn't the exact same but if i know tamiya it probably operates the same. just put the zip tie around the expanding collar. a wider zip tie than i used would be better

Just get a straight horn to fit whatever servo you're running. These things don't go fast enough to need a saver. If anything it hampers your turning if you're in a tough spot on the rocks

yes! this is exactly why i would like to get rid of it. i am having trouble finding one for a traxxas servo, how long does it need to be? 1/2 inch...

I think I have a 3/4" horn, but I did nip a bit off at the end because I got the Junfac steering linkages and they are pretty thick so they interfered with the horn movement.

Just replace it with an aluminum servo horn. They are splined differently depending on the servo you use, so make sure to get the right one.

Another vote for a solid servo arm. A servo saver will really hinder you on the rocks and any decent metal gear servo won't need it.

Around .75" should work.

Here's the one I use: http://www.racers-edge.com/Pro_Servo...rce10384bk.htm

I'm pretty sure they make a Traxxas version.
