| tamiya bruiser CR-01
i popped this on the end of my bronco thread, but thought i would start a new one so peeps didn't miss it... just got a toyota bruiser shell off ebay (big thanks to crazy4tamiya great service, crazy fast shipping and a free grill!?!?!). it's not quite a hilux like i wanted, but this looks sooo good on the CR-01 i think. just gotta get the grill mounted and i'm good! the pics are just on my home made rock pile in the back yard. "test track" thanks. Last edited by cydog510; 03-22-2011 at 09:49 AM. |

Cool body man. You can put some 1.9 wheels on it now too and it would still look good

just installed the 3racing bent links, great purchase! super inexpensive and they help out heaps getting over tall obstacles. got away in the forest for an hour yesterday. Last edited by cydog510; 03-28-2010 at 10:26 PM. |

so i painted the hideous blue servo, matte black, and popped on a solid plastic servo arm. i am LOVING the 3racing bent links, great pairing with the 3racing barrel springs. few new pics, got a new spot. also a video, be warned terrible quality! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LuSjuZsCRls Last edited by cydog510; 03-11-2011 at 12:44 AM. |

my old skid plate was getting quite mangled from the zip ties breaking and the aluminum catching and folding back, so decided to try a new one, i wasn't too concerned with the diff getting bashed, just having the steering linkage protected from blows. so to create a stronger plate out of the thin aluminum i had to work with, i eliminated any unnecessary bends. here is what i came up with. i suppose a skid plate is created to protect the diff, but i just wanna protect the steering. also showcasing the next colour for the hilux, light sand, OEM 70's and 80's colourway. also made some new scale items to pop in the back: a sleeping bag, bungy cords and flannel blanket. |

the new skid looks good. that bruiser is fairly bruised after your last lot of photos.

| a day out at the new spot
hit up the new spot with 3one on saturday. check the wrinkled tyre! believe it or not he drove outta this... built a bridge over a hole we lined with a garbage bag to collect water in order to create a mudpit/water crossing. thanks for looking. |

good point, but they are weighted differently, plus those blasted 20 screws per wheel.... also, a bit silly that they would make crawler tyres directional, you'd think you'd need equal grip forward and reverse.... thanks for the compliment on my rig, i really enjoy it! |

went for a trail run, had a mishap with a wheel falling off.... this section took me 15min. it's hard to seen in the pics but it's steep. all along the trail there are small and long bridges running across small creeks. to finish off there is a short creek to wash off the rig. i completely submerged the truck, but JUST after this pic i unfortunately did the same to my camera aswell.....oops. thanks for looking.
