check your pinion and spur for wear. Mine sounded like a tablesaw when the spur was worn out, it was really loud

Are you using the pinion that came with it? If you ever get a new one or different one you have to make sure it has a metric pitch. I replaced mine with one that didn't have the metric pitch and it did the same thing. After doing some research I found out about the metric pitch thing.

If you are using the pinion that came stock with the kit, it is possible that you installed it too tight next to the spur. Back it off the spur a bit, and it should fix the problem. If used a new pinion, did you make sure that it is .6 module 48pitch METRIC? http://www.robinsonracing.com/catalo...tchpinion.html http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...FVSEARCH=50356 |

yea, it's the stock 20t one. i backed the pinion and still a bit loud, i think it might be a bit worn, but nothing like that saw blade you had goin on nick! also took the 35t out today for a minute and damn! that extra bit of torque helps with the crawling! you loose 1/3 wheel speed, but well worth it i'd say! thanks for the help guys.

The torque is a noticeable difference over the stock silvercan. I felt that immediately. You can go over things without much extra throttle input needed.

im having the same issue, just bought a cr-01 that has the joker conversion on it. (its sick!!) i put my novak in it, and i only had my 21T hpi crawler king pinion to use (which is also 48dp) but it sounds like a saw blade. also i noticed the cr01 is much slower than my crawler king was with the same novak system. whats the gearing like in these things? Yeah the planetary gear tranny is geared lower than the Wheelie/Crawler King is.
