how fast is really fast?

fast driving, or lots of tough obstacle?

gear mesh not set properly or binding somewhere in the drive train or even a seized bearing so its straining the battery?

battery left plugged into the ESC even when not in use?

batteries not taking a full charge?

old batteries?

Any other ideas?

My bat. life seems to be cu in about half.

anyone know if there are bearings that are more likely to be seized then others?

what is the best way to test for binding?

battery left plugged into the ESC even when not in use?

don't use the on/off switch unplug every time

batteries not taking a full charge?
old batteries?

used a few some of mine and some of a friends two different chargers so i don't think this is it.

Any other ideas?

Can a faulty/Old ESC cause the batt. to drain? what effects would i see if i am over heating my ESC?

disconnect your motor from the tranny and spin the wheels, it should be fast and smooth. If the drive train doesnt spin free then something is binding it up.

The bearings most likely to be seized would be any that are exposed to water or mud and don't get cleaned and re-oiled.

Usually the ESC will just shut off if its too hot (mine does anyways) either that or it will just smoke itself.

Hey thanks for all the help, I think i was getting some binding in the tranny it was a little dry and a bit loud so i stripped it all down re lubed everything and put it back together seems to be a bit smoothing now so fingers crossed that was the problem.

will keep you posted just waiting for my batt. to charge up.
