Default CR-01 Driveshaft question

Hi everyone, found this place while looking for some other info and registered! I have a newly built Cr-01 which is almost completely stock. I am running an EZ Run 32T Crawler Combo with a 3S Lipo 1850 Mah. I found the wheelspeed to slow with 7.2V which is why I went to the 3S lipo. I am only running fromt steering and using a Hitec 645HG servo.

My question is regarding the driveshafts, more specifically the rear. I have noticed that the two pieces of the driveshaft barley slide in to one another. I haven't measured but I am certain that less than 1/8" is actually inside. This has resulted in the shaft popping out twice now. What I find strange is that the hop up option from Tamiya lists the front as being longer. Myy rear driveshaft angle may be off a tiny bit, but not enough to make such a huge difference. The only way I can see to get more of the shaft inserted is to shortehn the wheelbase by moving the rear links closer/higher or by moving the motor/tranny mounting plate back. If I move the motor.tranny plate back, I would need to do some fabrication as the holes wouldn't line up in anything other than the stock position.

I have double checked and all my links seemt o be in the correct position. Can anyone help?

I had to go look at mine, the rear is shorter.

Is your motor on the left side?

My motor is on the right side (passenger side).

There you go, Tamiya has it on the left side.

I used a T-Maxx drive shaft for mine. All you have to do is drill out the yoke a little to make it fit on the shaft that comes out of the diff. I cut the length down a little as well but the end result is a much beefier drive shaft that is plenty long enough.

if you ever get out near UBC, there is a spot that is near a bunch of developments that are going up, huge pile, and there is a huge steep pile of dirt just beside it. here is the google map:
http://maps.google.ca/maps?client=sa...N&hl=en&tab=wl

it is basically on the corner of benton ave and birney ave. stumbled apon it after a trail runnin pacific spirit park. i have quite the coarse set up, i will mark it out next time i am there. great course for both scalers and crawlers.
