Default Looking for pinion recommendations....

My CR-01 is running a brushless EZ Run Crawler Combo 32T motor and 25A ESC which is programmable. I am running a 3S 1850Mah Lipo and using the stock 20T pinion. I wouldn't mind a bit more top end speed, but mainly want to upgrade the pinion due to the supplied one being crap. Would going to a 22T pinion be much of a difference? I know I would lose out on the low end going with a pinion with more teeth, but a little bit wouldn't be too bad as I can do some reprogramming to help with that. Given my setup, what would you think would be the mitits for me? As it sits right now, nothing gets hot (battery, motor, or ESC). The ESC does have a fan as well.

Thanks,

Mark

i'd say go for it, with that ESC/motor combo you can do some serious adjustments, i have a 5.5t combo for my TB-03 and i love it. the 3s must be a real help for wheel speed too.

3s was required in order to get wheel speed. That crawler combo is a 380 sized rotor in a 540 can (which I din't realize at the time I purchased it). The wheelspeed was like I had a 65T engine in there (without the torque!). The 3S lipo woke it up quite a bit. I think I will try a 22t or 23t pinion. My new radio can monitor temps....

Thanks for the link to your course. Maybe I'll try and get out that way one weekend!
