I haven't figured out how I want to continue painting the grill. I'll sort it out once I finishing painting the body.

Here are some shots in the paint booth.

Tamiya Paints
PS-1 White
PS-5 Black
PS-14 Copper
PS-41 Bright Silver
PS-48 Metallic Silver

I haven't backed it with the bright silver yet. The black will be for the fenders and the white for the canopy. The Metallic silver will be used for the bumper as I had some paint left over from this build. Sorry it's not a crawler

Forgot to add the bumper into the mix. I'll have a lot of detail work ahead of me as I still dunno what theme to do in terms of having a roof rack, more than normal lighting, and other little bits.

Ignore the paint dust on the plastic coating.

I didn't even think of silver backing on the copper. I have another FJ body I did in Tamiya copper but I backed it with black.

Thanks guys. I get some more parts in tomorrow to actually drive the thing around, only to take it apart for the aluminium bits whenever they show up. Good thing though is I can finally play with placement of the ESC and RX.

Here are more pics. I have to add more detail to it once I am figure out some other bits.

I haven't figured out how I want to fill in the grill yet.

cutting the FORD out was fun Hopefully you can see the shiny bumper

In order to make my servo horns work (even though they were the short) required me using my dremel to cut and grind part of it off. I also had to take the front bumper off. Which means I have to figure something out for that as well.

Now that is cool with the crab crawl! I wonder if I can do that with my remote?.... hmm... will need to read some more in the instructions... I know I can reverse the servos individually, but it is going through the menu and a bunch of clicks, it seemed like it was only 1 click for you.

What transmitter are you using? My Futaba 4PLS has the programming built in which allows for single click changes on the fly. My Turnigy 9X is flashed for my buddy until he gets a better setup and that was a lot of work.

Thanks for the likes and now I just need all my aluminum bits and some lights.

I run a hacked FlySky on my FJ40 CR01 and it is programmable for one touch switching from opposite to crab. It also is programmable to have one of the buttons vary the ratio, which is super useful. I hadn't thought to try my 4PLS on it, so I think I may try that when I build #2 in a few weeks.

Looking really good. I think the Broncos look good without roff racks and extras but will be good to see what you decide. I had a similar issue with the servo arm so ended up not using the aluminium one but going for a short reinforced plastic one instead

I love that copper color, have used it on several vehicles.

I don't run the axle bumpers on any of my trucks.

I finally gave it a good run this evening for about 1.5hrs and still had 30mins left I figure on the battery. I learned that I do not have as good of articulation as my buddies Unimog due to a wider offset, lighter oil (I built his shocks), and weighted wheels.

I've gotten a great baseline to work with now and was for the most part able to keep up with him. It was just that mine looked like a plank sometimes and his a creature overtaking rocks. I did end up taking out the front stabilizing bar on mine before this evening.

Here are some shots over the last 24hrs.

I still am waiting for my light kit as I took parts I had laying around.

I am also gearing up for winter ahead of time

For max articulation, stabilizer bars front and rear have to go. Just no escaping it.

I was thinking that, but my buddies CR-01 is running weighted wheels and a wider offset and he gets more articulation than I.

What I am going to do is weight the wheels and use even lighter oil (30wt currently) with softer springs. Then I will remove the rear. I've already removed the front when I went out for its maiden run.

Thanks for tip

I love the way your rig is looking. For what it's worth, I think you should be able to get a lot more articulation than you currently have without having to make major changes. I'm running yellow springs and the stock oil with stabilizers and heavily weighted wheels, and I get a ton of articulation. Good luck!

thank you new2rocks. I don't figure major changes are needed either. I've put about 90 grams for the fronts. I still have yet to do the rears, but it will be just slightly less. I am gonna wait for my KM parts before I put anything on. Gonna make another order for some knuckles, hubs, wheels, and spacers to give me a wider stance.
