Should have posted this before too. The RC4WD straight axle conversion. Great for $6.99. |

Have been on holiday and have another trip coming up so the Cr01 has been sat on the shelf. I need to find some good local crawling spots (anyone from Auckland NZ with any ideas let me know). However glad I got it completed at Christmas as the jobs on the 1:1 Vee Dub have grown and I will shortly be replacing the transmission!

I would really like to force my axle into non-4WS mode, but I like the straight axle conversion. I'm on RC4WD's site, but I don't see a CR01 specific part? Nevermind, their website wasn't displaying everything when zoomed in the browser. Last edited by Mesozoic; 02-24-2015 at 09:31 PM. |

I've just looked and I think they are now out of stock. Given they had dropped them to $6.99 from $34.99 I'm guessing that they will not be producing more. Richard |

^^ highly recommended. the STRC's use a 1 piece axle on each side, which removes the slop from the dogbone/cup set-up. They are out on Ebay for dirt cheap.

Yes, really pleased with the chrome wheels and beadlocks. I was worried the beadlocks wouldn't look as good as those on 860Crawler's setup. However, I'm now happy with them. The tyres are super grippy and look great. They were fantastic on the rocks at the weekend and with the (uncut) foams that came with them seem to give the right amount of 'squish'. I was there with my daughters and was really wishing I had two CR-01s for us to use....

All the recent photos are taken by my daughter with our Nikon D90 with 18-200 zoom. I said stand well back and zoom in to decrease the depth of field....worked well!

The CR01 has been parked up whilst I make very slow progress on other projects. The 1:1 Beetle changed from needing a clutch release bearing to replacing the complete transmission built to take the power of a high performance engine when there is cash. Plus a rear brake conversion at the same time. Still not yet finished. On the RC front I am still in the middle of converting my Lunchbox to FX10 wishbone suspension. I now have the new longer front shocks that I found I needed. I bought matching rear shocks and a further short shock for the 5th shock mod. I have a black motor waiting to be fitted. Now a CR01 related question (sort of!). I'm going to cut down the original tie rods to use on the Lunchbox. They measure 2.59mm diameter. Is this a standard diameter that I'll be able to get a die to cut a thread on if I shorten them? Thanks |

I'm not sure on the die question, but I also have said FX10 CRP suspension conversion....thought I was the only one in the universe. Waiting to go on my FX10 though whenever I get to it. Never thought of putting it on a LB - that's a great idea! |

Busy with work and so 1:10 and 1:12 and 1:1 car projects still on hold. The Lunchbox CRP FX10 suspension conversion seems quite common but everyone seems to do it differently, so I'm finding my way a bit. I'll post it to show people once complete. regards Richard |

How's the Turnigy MG959 servo holding up for you? Looks like a great buy if it works well and is reliable. I bought the Turnigy TGY-DS3509MG servo, but never installed it. Instead, I put a HobbyKing BEC on my Solar D772 servo and that seems to be fine. https://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/...dProduct=50468 |

Hard to say with the servo; I've probably only been out with the car 6 times since installing it. I use a Turnigy from Hobby King 5A BEC with it. I need to get out some more and really test the setup (looking at the photos I posted just makes me want to get out even more). |

By that do you mean where as activating (Reverse) on your controller it acts as a brake, then after you release it you can go into reverse gear? Newb Question sorry | |
