Default #3 - Ugly Betty Rides Again

After hopping up my other 2 trucks, and along with a $40 set of axles I picked up as spares a while ago, I found I had enough parts to build a third truck. I was feeling nostalgic: I was rocking this beast back in 2009, I called her "Ugly Betty":

Having grown older, and hopefully wiser, I wanted to rebuild it - but better then before. Stronger! Faster! But just as ugly...

So, here's the chassis. Stock chassis with a few extras here and there out of my parts pile. Stole the Flat Irons from my Jeep as I didn't want anything larger - was hacking up the body enough as it was.

Modified some axial units for some simple sliders. And for $9 each shipped, cheap and easy.

Each CR has a different suspension set-up...This one has plain old stand up shocks on some custom shock mounts. 60wt oil and stock deadbolt single stage springs.

And the body...had it left over from an old CC01 (in fact, that's how the first one started too!) Left the RB livery on it - why not. It's sitting much, much lower than its predecessor.

So low, I had to hack up the front pretty good, but I like the overall stance. Bumper is beat up a bit, and some decal clean up needs to happen here.

And this one gets lights...didn't mess with the rear lowers, just did the uppers.

Group photo. Welcome to the party pal!

All in all, love how it came together. Spring yet??

Agreed. Love to see what you do with these, and amazing how many variations you come up with. I have enough parts now to make a second, but it's on hold until I finish a few other builds.

As for Spring, not here in NC. After snow twice with accumulation last week (we rarely get two accumulations in a whole season), freezing rain coming today. Ugh!
