Heavy Duty Ring and Pinion Diff Gear Options? Hey guys. I've put a lot of miles on Mogfather, and now it is time for an overhaul. I've taken apart the tranny and it looks great. However, when I took the axles apart, the diff pinion gear was quite worn and one tooth was chipped. I am not really upset because the truck has a LOOOT of miles on it. But since I'm doing a full re-build, I figure I'll put in some better parts. I am going to be putting in the Heavy Duty (HD) driveshaft/locker combo (P/N 54108). QUESTION: I want to know if there is a HD/hardened steel diff ring and pinion gear set for the CR-01. i.e. is there a HD version of P/N 51326. Doesn't have to be a Tamiya part, but it does have to be good quality. I did try to search the forum for this but didn't find anything - sorry if someone already posted on this. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! |
Re: Heavy Duty Ring and Pinion Diff Gear Options? Supposedly the RC4WD T-Rex 60 gears fit the TLT-1axles with minimal work (I've never tied it myself so I can't say for sure). Never had a CR01 so not sure what the difference is from the TLT |
Re: Heavy Duty Ring and Pinion Diff Gear Options? I don't know of any, and I have been looking for years. The stock gears do hold up pretty well and aren't terribly expensive. I'd just swap in another set and call it good. |
