I got a plan....

I was sitting around today. Drew up some designs. I wanna make a TLT-1 crawler and do it like this.

Grab a old front end of a bruiser body. Build a Tube frame w/ a scale cockpit. Steering wheel, Dash, Seats, ETC. Then I want to have no box and just run a tube frame in the back. Just show the tube fully. Then I wanna run G-Hawg tires and do a skid plate w/ a brush gaurd and some other stuff. I am gonna start building a cage pretty soon. The body is probally gonna be the harder part. Soon as I get my hands on one, I can build.

I will use a TXT Tranny, Then mount it under the seats in the cab.

if you are going to put the trans under the seats i would use a pede trans, is smaller then the txt and is more suited for use with it. just my two sence, you can get a newone from tower for about 55.

I can get a complete rustler right now for 45.00 shipped. Needs tires and stuff. I only need the tranny tho  So, I will probally run a stampede tranny then.

Why not just use the nikko thor body, or the radio shack 90's toyota hard body. I think both would be cheaper/easier to come by.

I've seen a tuber done up exactly like that with bruiser axles. Yellow body and red cage. It was sick. This was a long while back (year and a half). Anyway, that toyota body from radio shack is only like $12 as opposed to a $30-60 bruiser body that'll just get beat up anyhow.

I believe that would be similar to what they call a flatbed. I could show you mine for my bruiser but I will probably never get it.

ScaleCrawlersINC 06-07-2005 03:38 PM

No, I mean. Doing a full tube frame and roll bar and stuff behind the cab. No flat bed. Just a full tube frame ;-)

i like the idea!

cold bodies are plentyfull and somewhat cheap as well.

oh..hey what do you know..etype is a member here to..lol

ScaleCrawlersINC 06-07-2005 10:47 PM

Nope. Not like that either. I plan to not have a flat bed or a box, I will make the whole rear end out of cage. Then use styrene to make a radiator, Possibly a battery box and stuff. I might even do a exo cage, Just a simple one around the body.

I picked up all the materials for this. Should be starting tommorow on it. I am gonna be running the cab and front end of a Jugg Body. I will be doing full tubed rear end. I am cuttin the doors out on the cab.

rcbif 06-09-2005 08:34 AM

cool. do you have the bruiser frame allready?

ScaleCrawlersINC 06-09-2005 02:23 PM

Not using a bruiser frame. Running a full out, Tube Frame w/ the jugg body over it. Except the jugg body will have no doors

I believe this is what Plays was referring to. I'm not sure who it belongs to but it's a kickass ride.

The wheel base is way to sort. I'd be surprized if it could crawl at all.
