Nice paint job, rig looks great. It looks like everyone in the 2.2 class is going to have to step it up a notch.

well after getting 2 battery packs ran thru The HQQD Rat it is workin' good . I'm liking the wheel speed the 12 tooth pinion gear gives. I was worried about the ESC/Motor over heating . I was also worried about the motor stalling but there is plenty of power . After getting thing setup like this I ended up with 3" of center clearance . the 60/40 setup rocks !!!!!

Lookin good badoubled!

I'm running a 45t motor with a 12t pinion and a 10.8 battery pack in my s-dub-trio, and I love it. Its got amazing wheel speed and still has plenty of power.

Is this your first s-dub-3? If so, you'll like it.

Nice rig. I like the way you mounted the batt pack over the servo. I've been fighting with myself trying to find a way to put my packs on the axles. I think I might try that.

I ran my battery packs like that in comps last year . I like that they are easy to change out . It gets the weight down lower also .

I ran my batteries over my servo last year . I was running a 5645 servo and it done ok . This year I got a 5995 and even though it has been cool outside the servo seemed to be getting warm . I'm sure it would get to hot this summer. I made new mounts for them . I dropped them down on the axle like on my Scorpion .I made some small plates to mount the split packs to . I stayed with a 7 cell pack , so I added 21g of weight to the left side to off set the weight . This is how they where before and now got the weight of the batteries alittle lower

Nice pics Badd, truck looks good. You need some stiffer inserts in the rear tires, IMO, but if they are working good for you, so be it
How is the clearance between your batts and the shock mounts? I had to change to a single hole mount to clear the batts on mine, but I run 10 cells.

as for the foams , yes I need to invest in some . the Axial's are not firm enough (Losi are about the same ) . As for the mounts , I didn't have to change anything . The batteries fit like a glove .

Thank you , I think it is was worth doing . Five of the batteries where on top of the servo the other way . This way they are all lower . This should let the servo cool better also .

This is a great mod . I have always done it on my TLT axles (fat rock Cs) after they got some ware on them . I was going to do these right away , but the bearning had not come in . They came in on Sat. when I was at the comp . If you are waiting on parts just go to a comp they will come . Anyway I knew this mod would work on the MSD axles Cs also . So I ordered four 3x6x2.5 mm flanged bearings . I drilled out the axle Cs with a 15/64th bit and press the four bearings in . I needed 4 button head screws with 1/4" of threads . so I cut some longer one down to what I needed . I put it back together & there is no play in the kingpin screws now .
