I'm sure it would be very difficult to make rc. It's fun just the way it is in my opinion. So far I have:
Widened the stance and glued the tires
Removed the shocks and springs
Cut the whole steel sub chasis off
Put staws on the drive belts
Limitting straps for the front axle
Weighted the tires
(All of Jasons mods)
It crawls rediculously good...especially compared to stock.

I picked up a couple at Wal-Mart the other day. They are indeed fun. I plan on keeping one stock to use as a test subject and modding the heck out of one. I started my mods after about 5 minutes. Ain't that how it goes? I'm almost positive I'll have more in the future. These little suckers will get it.

I also would like to find out what I need to turn one fully RC. It would be very cool to do and pretty cheap I bet. I got a full radio system that needs to be doing something. I am going to add you to my buddy list and I will talk to you later and see if you get any new info on what we need.

hey...i know these aren't fully R/C...but the thread needs to get started up again possibly...

i built one tonight...joined 2 of these trucks together in hoping to have a like semi-lookin truck with 6wd...but i ended up takin second axle out and i have a 4x4...1 motor per set of wheels and it's about 8 inches long total and crawls quite a bit better...i'll get pics soon (when i learn how to post them straight from computer...i don't wanna have to email the pics to myself just to load them

I got bored with mine and hacked it up. Took the motor/trans out of it, and attempted to make a winch out of it.

I hooked it up to a 9v battery, spooled some wire on it, and it picked up a 3 pound tool off the ground pretty easily!

Then I tried picking up my 9~ pound clod with it, and the gears started to strip and click.

You may actually get it to work for a smaller, scale vehicle. How much does the typical TLT/2.2 crawler actually weigh?

I don't see them at wal mart anymore, or else I'd get another and try again.

are the belts from the differentials soft enough to add a 130 size motor to?

I'm surprized that no one's tried to mount the motors to the axles like a clod. These things are way top heavy.

reason no one has done it...is because the motor/gearbox is kind of big...and will limit arcticulation...and you would need to cut and glue a belt to length...could be done...but very hard and strenuous...all for a 6 dollar truck...be different if i could control it more...
