I wouldn't do the JB weld, only for the center, but you can also use slipper pegs there. Anyhow, for the axles, hotglue, silly putty, and thick automotive grease works well. The thing about locking the diffs especially the front one, the turning radius grows exponentially.

I locked all (2) diffs in my truck. The turning radius is about 10 feet with swampers. The steering is really weak on these trucks

when you say you locked all 2 diffs you must mean in a truck different from the tlt? because it has 3. Anyway two mods that increased perforance from my truck the most were lockin all diffs and using traxxas sliders.

Custom crawler is running a different central tranny I believe, so he only has two.

I'd be interested in your shaving mods, I myself want to try out some HPI hubs/steering arms I have in my workbench.

well were going to have to use your imagination here but all you do is unscrew those 2 screws that hot the steering together and then take out the axle the one that the wheel would attach to then dremel the outdrive part slightly then dremel correspondiong piece the male end ruight under the ball theres a little lip i dremeld that to and no i have the steering where the axel careers go stop to stop

ill have pics soon

Oh, it is by far the most solid locking effect, but it is also permanent. The others can be reversed so if you end up not wanting them locked, especially the non 100% crawler types, you have the chance to unlock them. If you know they are meant to be locked forever, go for JB weld.

I can't get hot glue to work on my TXT-1. Twice i've done the rear differential, and after about 10 minutes of crawling the gears just grind up the hot glue and it goes back to open differential. I guess i'll have to go pick up some JB weld.

I remember once seeing a tutorial once on how to do it correctly. I'd love to take a look at that before I do use JB weld, but I can't find it. Does anybody have the link to this (or any) diff locking tutorials?

i dont have a link but your probably not gettin enough glue in the diff. It may also be that you have to much torque for the glue to handle and you need to move to something like silly puddy or blue tack.

Hey I have herd of people using screws to lock the diffs. How would you lock the diffs with screws?
Also when you guys jb weld do you put it directly in the diff or do you put it on something and mix it?

mix it according to the directions (50 50 mix) on something like a small piece of paper or napkin and then put it in the diff.
